Apache Derby is an open-source, embeddable, small footprint, SQL compliant, fully transactional, secure relational database management system implemented entirely in Java. It supports client/server mode with the Derby Network Client JDBC driver and Derby Network Server. Derby is very easy to install, deploy and use.
